Tiji Festival is one of the major and colorful event, usually takes place around mid - May and lasts for 3 days. Tiji festival is stand on the mythological story of walled city  Lo-Manthang , it is belief that before fifteenth century there was a deity named  Dorje Jono  who fights against his  demon  father and save the kingdom of Mustang from destruction. The monks of Lo-manthang Monastery perform various Tibetan rituals dances wearing various kinds of colorful costumes and masks during celebration in order to chase the demon away from Kingdom of Mustang.
